Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Generator Mechanic specializing in the maintenance, repair, and installation of generators within the telecommunications industry. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of generator systems and demonstrate expertise in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues.
Education: Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant vocational training preferred.
Experience: 2 – 3 years of experience as a generator mechanic, preferably within the telecommunications industry

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on generator systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and technical issues related to generators and associated equipment.
- Install new generator systems, ensuring proper configuration, testing and commissioning by industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts inventory and service reports.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working on generator systems, ensuring a safe working environment for oneself and team members.
- Ensuring strict compliance with industry regulations, safety standards and company policies.
- In-depth knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, equipment and systems.
- Thorough understanding and implementation of safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to analyse data and field reports to improve operational efficiency
- Identifying and mitigating potential risks in field operations to ensure smooth project execution.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant vocational training preferred.
- 2 – 3 years of experience as a generator mechanic, preferably within the telecommunications industry.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing generator systems, including diesel and gas engines, electrical components, and control systems.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to generator maintenance and repair.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and effectively manage time.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
